Atelier de Mariana Barturen, a place with artisan charm

At number 56 of Príncipe de Vergara street, hides one of the last artisan workshops in Madrid. From IADE, we believe it is of vital importance to discover to our fashion students, these small places full of magic, effort and detail.

Mariana Barturen's atelier also offers special services to designers looking to incorporate floral appliqués or feathers in their creations. It is all about a personalized dedication, which pursues optimal results with a handmade seal thanks to the use of methods of elaboration and preparation of Haute Couture.

Given its vocation for the craft, the atelier is committed to transmitting knowledge to all those interested through comprehensive training in types of flowers, fabrics and their corresponding preparations, along with the design and assembly of floral appliqués. With this, the aim is to promote craftsmanship and prevent it from falling into oblivion in the midst of the technological era.

​What is Mariana Barturen Couture?

Mariana Barturen Couture is presented as an exclusive space dedicated to the making and creation of dresses, shoes, headdresses, hats and handbags to order, for those special days. In addition, not only do we work on a custom-made basis, but we also share with each client a personalized reflection and advice on their body architecture.

​Meet the team

The atelier, as its name suggests, is directed by Mariana Barturen, who in her youth was trained at Parsons as a graphic designer and who ended up leaving the world of layout parked to turn fully into the world of textile design, footwear and accessories.

Currently, she is accompanied by two colleagues, on whom she relies to run her atelier and her floral courses.

If you are curious, we encourage you to participate in her small group workshops, which consist of 12 hours, divided into 3 blocks of 4 hours each, and with material included!

What if you have complications with schedules? Mariana is very flexible and is always willing to find a schedule that is comfortable for both of us.
